What is the marketing/comp account vs. the main account within IDS?
The marketing account in IDS refers to reports that are discounted for marketing purposes and are not for resale. This is a great way to promote your services with the sampling of a report by a decision-maker to try to get buy-in. Your main account should be used when you have a paying client and the reports are regular price.
What are the guidelines for using the marketing account in IDS versus the paid reports?
The marketing account is based on an honor system, and the general rule is no more than 1 to 3 reports per organization. Once a client is ready to purchase your services and/or assessments, then you would convert the marketing report into a regular report. Helpful hint: Don’t forget to include the cost of the converted reports (full price) in the price of the service you are providing the client.
