What does "Convert in Place" do?

What does a "Convert in Place" do that a normal "Convert to Another Report" does not?

The "Convert in Place" is a specialized report conversion that is used to update older assessments into newer versions for use in comparisons, without a repeated charge for the assessment.

The reports that can be selected for a "Convert in Place" are limited, as this is meant for specific situations.
