What Does it Mean When Someone Adapts?

While the reasons someone has adapted their behaviors can vary widely, these are the typical things adaptation means.

D Adaptation

D goes up: Become more assertive and challenge-oriented.

D goes down: Become less assertive.

I Adaptation

I goes up: Become more outgoing and people-oriented.

I goes down: Become less trusting, guard what you share.

S Adaptation

S goes up: Slow the world down.

S goes down: Increase activity level and pace.

C Adaptation

C goes up: Respond to procedures, lower risk-taking, or protect security.

C goes down: Become more independent, be your own person.

Graph disparity should be a concern to all when the change is significant.  An open discussion will usually lead to the discovery of the real reason for adapting new behavior.
